These Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs are guaranteed to be a hit at your next BBQ or family dinner. Whether you’re a seasoned grill master or a complete novice, this foolproof recipe will have everyone asking for seconds...and the recipe! The secret? A slow cooking process that ensures every bite is bursting with flavour, followed by a caramelized finish that’s downright irresistible. So roll up your sleeves and get ready to dig into the most tender, mouthwatering ribs you've ever tasted!

Ingredients

  • 6 racks of ribs
  • 3/4 cup lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup apple juice
  • For the rub:
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup Hungarian paprika
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne

Instructions

  1. Mix together the rub ingredients and set aside.
  2. Remove the membrane from each rack.
  3. Place 1 rack of ribs on a large sheet of foil. Apply 2 tbsp apple juice and 2tbsp lemon juice to each rack and rub it into both sides.
  4. Apply a medium-heavy coating of the rub mixture to the meat side and a light-medium coating on the bone side.
  5. Wrap tightly in the foil with the meat side down. Repeat this process for each rack.
  6. Place in a large roasting pan and refrigerate overnight.
  7. The next day, bake the ribs (in the roaster) for 5-6 hours at 250 degrees.
  8. Remove from foil and finish on the BBQ. Glaze with your favourite BBQ sauce or my Jack Daniel's Glaze (see below).

Tip: I find it easier to remove the membrane from the narrow end of the rack. I use the handle of a teaspoon to wiggle under the membrane until I'm able to grasp it with my fingers. The membrane will be easier to remove if the ribs have not been frozen.
