The perfect chocolate chip cookie with crispy edges, a soft, chewy middle, and just the right amount of chocolate in every bite. Whip up a batch and your kitchen will be the happiest place on earth!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F
  2. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, mix together sugars, butter and egg.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine with the sugar mixture, then add the chocolate chips.
  4. Drop by rounded tablespoon or use a cookie scoop to drop cookie dough onto ungreased or parchment lined baking sheets. Place about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Do not over-bake.
