You should know within 24 hours if you will be able to tolerate it.

  2. Combine with Other Acids Carefully: If you’re using other exfoliating acids like salicylic or lactic acid, be cautious. Over-exfoliating can damage your skin barrier.

  3. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Glycolic acid can be drying, so keeping your skin well-hydrated is essential. Look for products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides.

  4. Use Sunscreen: Since glycolic acid can increase sun sensitivity, using a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily is non-negotiable.
